How to cure depression

Depression is nothing else but a reaction of your body to a long period of emotional exhaustion.

A person who kept himself in a state of anxiety or state of constant worrying and panic can very easily bring himself to a state of depression.

You see, after every panic attack a person is left in a confused state, and becomes sad every time it happens to him. A person often asks himself:

"Why me? Why is all this happening to me?"

Of course a person never has answers to these questions, that is why he becomes more and more sad. This pattern can go on for months, even years.

This sorrow and apathy that is repeating itself, brings a person in a state of depression. Depression can come suddenly or in waves before it fully develops.

Anyhow, if you are depressed, I assure you, you can get rid of it. Remember that it doesn't matter how long you have been depressed, or how long you have been in your anxious-depressive state. Your body is waiting for you to take the initiative and get rid of depression!

As with anxiety, there is no "recipe" you can use to cure yourself from depression overnight. You cannot get rid of depression overnight but in time YOU WILL! It only takes some work on you, each day.

First of all, you don't have to identify yourself with depression. YOU ARE NOT YOUR DEPRESSION! It is only a temporary condition that has overtaken you and will pass. You don't have to say: "I am depressed, my depression" and similar...

Secondly, you are depressed simply because your thoughts are turned to your inside. In other words, you are subjected to excessive introspection or self-observation which is not good for you.

I cannot stress enough how important it is for a depressed person to be occupied with something during his recovery! Think about things you loved and enjoyed doing before you got depressed. Your main goal here is changing the focus of your thoughts from inner self to the outside world.

Therefore, it is extremely important for you to be occupied with something outside yourself, with some hobby or activity that you like, not with your inner state or your introspection. You may find this hard in the beginning, but in time you will feel better more and more.

I know well myself how an average hour in a life of depressed person looks like. For him, one hour can seem like a whole eternity has passed, eternity accompanied by emptiness. Imagine now how 24 hours in a life of a depressed person look like. 24 lost hours in a life of a person who doesn't do anything in terms of his recovery.

Therefore, I repeat myself, if you focus on the outside world, to the things that interest you, to the pleasant little things and joys, you will see that one hour can pass a lot quicker than it did before. When you notice that your days pass by quickly, you can definitely say you are on the right way to cure your depression.

During your recovery, a constant FAITH in better days is imperative. Your constant self-reminding that depression is just something temporary, something that is not here to stay, something that will pass, is also of great importance. Be sure about it!

If you take a closer look, you will see that everything I have written here is very simple. That's how it is. Many people think that curing depression is a somehow difficult process. It is not complicated, everything is very simple. All the world's greatest truths are like that!

Some reminders for conclusion:

- No matter how long you have been depressed and no matter how intense your depression may be - you can get rid of it!

- Depression is just a temporary phenomenon, it will pass.

- For curing depression, modern medications called antidepressants can be helpful. You should consult with your psychiatrist or other expert about this option.

- Make a habit of getting out of bed as soon as you open your eyes in the morning! Do not allow yourself to lay in bed for a long time after waking.

- Make your plan for each day as best as you can. You can take a piece of paper and write down your to do list - a list of activities that you will perform that day. This is one of the best tools for fighting depression. Make an effort to carry out all duties you have planned. If you do not succeed in carrying out everything, it does not matter, no one is perfect. What is important here in your WISH is to do something.

- Once again, remind yourself regularly that you are only one step away from curing your depression. Your body is always ready to be cured and it can hardly wait for you to make the necessary step!
